–The Friends of the Paso Robles City Library has notified its over 200 members that in recognition of the store’s closure during the COVID-19 pandemic and the cancellation of the popular biannual book sales, it will suspend membership dues and extend all memberships out through June 30, 2022 with no further requests for payment. Plans are now afoot for a gala reopening of The Friends shop as soon as circumstances permit. “The day is rapidly approaching when once again the shop can help support our town library with the sale of used books and magazines and a wide variety of gifts,” says Friends of the Library Publicity Chair Jennifer Carey. “Proceeds from shop sales provide the library with substantial financial aid, supporting the library’s much-loved fish tank, many library databases popular with the public, and the purchase of books that keep our city library collection vital and up to date.”

Come summer, The Friends of the Library organization says it plans to once again be in operation.
