Bearcats baseball loses to Greyhounds

–The Atascadero Greyhounds boys baseball team beat the Paso Robles Bearcats with a walk-off homer in the bottom of the 7th inning Wednesday. Justin Vose blasted a solo home run over the fence in left center to break a 4–4 tie. The Greyhounds won 5–4. A second game between the rivals will be played Thursday afternoon at Barnhart Field on the campus of Paso Robles High School.

Nearby on the Atascadero track, the Bearcats and Greyhounds battled in a dual meet. On the men’s side, Paso Robles’ Jordan Summers won the 200 meters and anchored both winning relays for the Bearcats. Atascadero’s Max Botenbal won the 3200 meters with a personal record, 10:18.48. Bearcat Corban Payne threw the discus 155'10” to win the event. Paso Robles’ Clay Wilshusen won the pole vault with a jump of 14'04”. Bearcat Connor Lacy won the 100 meter dash (11.40), long jump (21'05.5”) and the triple jump (43'07”). Connor also ran on the Bearcats’ winning 4 x 100 meter relay.

On the women’s side, Kendal Caruana led a Bearcat sweep in the 400 meters, winning in 1:02.90. Paso Robles’ Charlotte Castelli won the 1600 meters in 5:22.09 and finished second in the 3200. Grace Chamberlain won the 3200 meters in 12:02.83. Kimberly Buchanan of Paso Robles won the shot with a throw of 39'06.50”. She also won the discus with a personal record 111'08”. Her throw was only an inch further than teammate Hailie Abel. Shasta Garcia cleared 10'06” to win the pole vault.

The Bearcat men won the dual meet 93–43. The Bearcat women won 85–50.

Men’s golf results from Thursday March 28

In golf last week Paso Robles High School competed in home and away matches with St. Joseph. St. Joe’s defeated Paso Robles 202–233 at the Santa Maria Country Club on Monday 3/25. The teams played again on Thursday 3/28 at The Paso Robles Golf Club where the Bearcats lost a close match 222–227. Kobe Rabenaldt posted the low score for the Bearcats on Monday with a 43 and Logan Burns posted the low score on Thursday with a 42.

Softball results from Friday March 29
The Bearcats won a Mountain league game last Friday night against the Templeton Eagles by a score of 5–0. Great team win. Becca Stroud had a great day at the plate going 2 for 4 with a double and 4 RBIS. Defensively the Bearcats made 2 errors but kept the Eagles off the board. Next up for the Bearcats is a home game tomorrow vs the Atascadero greyhounds.

Swim results from Saturday March 30, PRHS Swim at Clovis West Invitational

Paso Robles High School Swimming had another great day in the pool! Nine girls lowered or achieved a CIF automatic times. The current school record holder in the 100 Fly, Holly DiSimone, lowered her current time to 57.76! Tatiana Smeltzer missed a second school record by 1.6 seconds in the 100 Back. Freshman Ava Hughes earned her first two CIF swim times in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Back. Varsity Boys (Timmy Nguyen, Joshua Picard, Elijah Hanauer, John “Tre” Eade) netted a second CIF Qualifying time in the 200 Medley Relay. 24 teams attended the Clovis West Invitational, the Combined Paso Boys and Girls placed fourth. In the Girls’ division Paso Robles placed 4th and the Boys came in 10th in their division.

Men’s tennis results from Monday April 1

Paso had a home non-conference match on Monday against Sierra Pacific. The Bearcats played well and consistent tennis and went up 4–2 after singles play. Paso picked up 2 more in doubles play .
